Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data is collected through kopecmartin.com, how it is used, and your rights. This site is operated by Martin Kopec, based in Prague, Czech Republic.
What data is collected and why
Contact form
When you submit the contact form, your name, email address, and message are collected. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (processing necessary for taking steps at your request before entering into a contract), or Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in responding to direct communications).
The form is processed by Formspree (Formspree Inc., USA), which acts as a data processor. Submitted data is transmitted to and stored on Formspree's servers. Transfers to the US are governed by Formspree's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can review Formspree's privacy policy at formspree.io.
Language preference
The site saves your language preference (English or Slovak) in your browser's localStorage. This is a functional setting stored entirely on your device. It is never transmitted to any server and does not identify you.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC, USA) to collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site: pages viewed, referral sources, and general geographic region. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device. No analytics data is collected until you accept cookies via the consent banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded and no data is sent to Google. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's
localStorage
. Transfers to the US are governed by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long is data kept
Contact form submissions are retained by Formspree for as long as needed to handle your inquiry and any reasonable follow-up, and deleted thereafter. You can request deletion at any time; see your rights below.
Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal data held about you
- Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: request deletion of your data
- Restriction: request that processing is limited
- Portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection: object to processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected]. Requests are handled within 30 days.
